Supporting you to live a happy and healthy life

Safeguarding

We take safeguarding seriously, creating a safe and supportive space for everyone. This page is your go-to for all the ins and outs of our policies and processes.

Safeguarding is a vital part of our work here at Young Gloucestershire. We understand it’s importance and strive to provide the best support possible ensuring everyone can live safely and happily. As part of our approach to safeguarding we are committed to:
  • Actively listening to children, young people and adults, taking their wishes and feelings into consideration. We will support everyone to make their own decisions whilst keeping them safe from harm. If we ever need to make decisions for someone who can’t decide for themselves, we always do what’s best for them.
  • Encouraging everyone to speak out if they think something isn’t right.
  • Creating a safe, fair, and equal environment within our organisation.
  • Collaborating with relevant agencies and professionals to provide the best support.
  • Rigorous staff training.
  • Being transparent and accountable with clear policies and procedures.
  • Continually enhancing our safeguarding practices through ongoing improvements..

At Young Gloucestershire, we’re dedicated to providing safe, effective, and top-quality support. If there’s ever a concern about someone’s safety, we’re ready to take action, whether it’s reaching out to external resources and organisations, having a conversation, or providing training to our team.

We believe in these fundamental principles when it comes to safeguarding:

  • Empowerment: Everyone deserves to have a voice in their own life and make decisions they feel good about.
  • Prevention: Acting early to prevent harm is key.
  • Proportionality:We believe in responding appropriately to the level of risk involved.
  • Protection: We’re committed to supporting and advocating for those who need it most.
  • Partnership: We collaborate closely with our local communities to find solutions together.
  • Accountability: Transparency and integrity are at the heart of everything we do.

We adopt a ‘Making Safeguarding Personal’ approach, focusing on individual needs and preferences, and ensuring they have trusted support by their side.
