The Link offers information, advice and guidance and supports young people to engage in activities and training that will help them prepare for a positive future.
Who is it for?
The Link is able to offer support to 16-25 year olds who are facing challenges in their lives. Predominately the service helps those who are not in employment, education or training, but will offer advice to all young people.
The Link can offer advice and support in all aspects of your life from housing and relationships to finance. But our main aim is to help you get into work or education. We know there are lots of reasons why you might not be working or studying at the moment and we are here to help you figure out all the things that are getting in the way of your career goals.
What can you expect?
The Link is a shop on the high street in Gloucester that we have turned into a cosy drop in; with lovely blue sofa’s, big round tables, computers to access the Internet, job’s papers and lots of free cups of tea!
When you first call into The Link you’ll find our friendly team of staff, who will offer to sit down and have a chat with you about what you want to achieve. Together you will set tasks and goals and the staff in The Link will help you to make them happen.
You will also get the chance to meet other services who hold regular drop in sessions at The Link, so you can get the best advice from the right people. We have services like; local housing providers, colleges, training providers and drug & alcohol advisers.
“I love going to The Link, it’s nice to have somewhere to go and people to talk to.” (Jayne, 21, from Stroud).
