Since the Covid-19 pandemic, Young Gloucestershire has been taking to the streets to support young people as they deal with the impact of the crisis.
Our street based provision will continue for at least the next year until Summer 2021 as we help young people to navigate the changes to their lives and communities since the pandemic.
What is Street Based Youth Work?
It's simple really - our Youth Workers hit the streets and come and find where young people are spending their time. Since the lock down has been eased, that can mean groups of young people can meet in parks and outdoor spaces, but many of the indoor places we like to meet may still be off limits.
Our Youth Workers will spend time with young people, encourage social distancing and supporting them to engage in activities that interest them. Whether that's exploring education options, looking for work opportunities or fun community projects to help keep young people active and engaged. Our Youth Workers will help inspire and motive young people through these challenging times.
Where can you find us?
We will be working across all districts of the County and look forward to finding regular spaces that offer an accessible spot for us to work with young people on their patch. If you would like to see our Youth Workers in a park near you, then please get in touch.
How can local youth work providers get involved?
We are keen to work with any local providers and encourage young people to safely access other local services. If you would like to hear more about the work we are doing, please get in touch.
