National Citizen Service (NCS) is an initiative aimed at supporting the Big Society. NCS aims to promote a more cohesive, responsible and engaged society by bringing young people from very different backgrounds together to make a mark on their communities.

Young people taking part will have the opportunity to take on new challenges, learn new skills and build their confidence. Participants will have the chance to prove to themselves and their peers what they can achieve, as well as gaining the kinds of experiences that employers and educational institutions value. NCS@YG was established in 2011.
