What is the Duke of Edinburgh's Award?

The DofE  is a fun adventure and major challenge. It can involve a wide range of activities and offer endless possibilities to anyone aged 14 to 24. Millions of young people in the UK have already taken part in this world leading youth achievement award – pushing personal boundaries, gaining new skills and enhancing their CVs. Now could be your chance to participate through Young Gloucestershire.

What will I need to commit to?

The length of time to complete the Award depends on your level of entry. You will need to commit to completing volunteer placements in your community and to get fitter in order to plan and take on your own team expedition.

How much will it cost me and who can do it?

YG have funding to support the Award and hope to subsidise the cost for those involved and provide kit where needed. If you are aged 14-24 and feel you have missed out on the chance to complete this award before (whether you have never had the opportunity or lacked the motivation or finances) then we are looking for you!

Watch this short video to find out more about about the amazing opportunity that is DofE or read stories from other young people here.

How can I get involved?

If you’re interested in getting involved, please email YG or give us a call on 01452 501008. Otherwise you can always pop into our drop in shop; The Link in Gloucester, where our staff would be happy to help.
