Hugh Gladman - Chair
Following on from his time as Group Legal Director and Company Secretary of St. James’s Place plc, the wealth management firm based in Cirencester, Hugh is now working towards fulfilling his dream of spending more time in the outdoors and training to lead expeditions and adventures. Prior to that, he was a lawyer working in the city with Herbert Smith. His interests include mountain biking, tennis, hockey and skiing.
Has a rich history in international business, managing large mergers and acquisitions. Robin is the retired CEO of PayByPhone having brought the Canadian based company to the UK in 2004. Robin successfully expanded the company across Europe, building the business's reputation as market leader. Robin has an Masters in Experimental Psychology and enjoys keeping active with skiing, tennis, golf and cricket.
Jonathan Harvie - Finance
Jonathan spent his very early childhood in Sudan but then returned to the UK where he was educated. After three years in advertising he joined KPMG but moved to Gloucestershire in 1980 and joined Hazelwoods Chartered Accountants. He became a partner in 1987 and gave advice to a wide variety of clients before retiring in 2009. Jonathan is a Governor of The Barnwood Trust and has an interest in music and gardening (and occasional golf).
Martin has a Maths degree from Bristol University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and has been Finance Director of several large Financial Services Companies including Zurich and St. James's Place. Prior to that he worked as an Actuarial Consultant in the City. He believes that no organisation can prosper without a sound financial infrastructure. He has lived in Kemble since 1990 and retired in 2011. His interests include Rock Music, Football (particularly West Bromwich Albion) and Travel.
Susan Joined the third sector in 2009 as the Regional Fundraising Manager for CLIC Sargent before leaving in 2013 to join Tenovous Cancer Care, the leading Cancer charity in Wales as Head of Retail. Susan has a providing history of working across whole organisations in healthcare settings, to build on what has so successfully been achieved and to make a real difference. Susan's main purpose is to innovate, lead, inspire, manage, motivate and develop the team in accordance with the organisational strategy and values and to provide sustainable reliable income to enable the organisation to provide its aims and objectives.
John graduated in History from Christ Church, Oxford University before completing a PGCE at the University of London Institute of Education. John has been Headteacher of four Gloucestershire Secondary schools; Winchcombe School, Tewkesbury School, Gloucester Academy and Lakers School as well as Interim head at Longlevens Junior School. John also worked as South West Regional Director of Achievement for All, supporting schools and local authorities with programmes that help families of children with Special Educational Needs. John lives in Cheltenham and has been a Governor of Pittville School and Gloucestershire College.
Mark Sheridan was a COO for Zurich with many years of global financial services experience, including an extensive background in running back office operations, customer care teams and IT and business change functions. He has managed teams in over 25 locations world-wide and has a particular passion for creating customer care cultures, understanding loyalty economics and working with multifunction, cross border teams. Mark now spends time in the educational and sporting sectors, as a mentor, coach and lecturer. He is also a Chairman of a volunteering charity, and an active rugby referee.
