Learning Mentor

Work with challenging young people within our Youth Achievement Foundation, supporting their social, emotional, and key-skills development through an activity based curriculum.

The Youth Achievement Foundation  is an alternative education provision for 14-16 year olds who are at risk of becoming NEET. Our focus is on re-engaging young people in learning  and on improving their priority social skills :
  • High self-esteem
  • A positive life view
  • A commitment to control or improve their lives
  • The ability to recognise and manage feelings
  • Empathy
  • Value development

We work in small groups (typically 2 to 6) and a learning mentor supports activities and sessions that are linked to the Foundation's Curriculum (sports, creative arts, healthy living, and key skills such as literacy and numeracy).

As a learning mentor there is the opportunity to run sessions that match your own skills and interests.  You should have an interest in young people and their development, a sense of humour, and a resilient nature.

If this role interests you, then please fill out our enquiry form or contact a member of the YAF Team on 01452 729914.
